EBlast: August / 57th Annual Convention in Chicago:

Chicago! Chicago!
Less than two years ago, the windy city blew us away with all that it has to offer. In fact, after the IRA 55th Annual Convention left Chicago, we knew we wanted to come back. Well, it didn’t take us long - we’re back! The IRA is pleased to announce that the IRA 57th Annual Convention will be held in Chicago. We blow back into town from April 29th to May 2nd, 2012. Keep the date.

Spinning a New Web.
For our return to good ol’ Chicago, we’re weaving up something new: a splashy, colorful new convention website. New features include a convention countdown timer and an easy to use navigation bar that’ll transport you to the information you need most. The body of the site is easy on the eyes, with well organized information such as announcements and exhibitors front, center and color-coded. Valuable links to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are on hand to keep your social media machine up to speed. The site will be live soon, but you can check out a mock-up

Teaching Edge 2012.
At the 2011 IRA Annual Convention in Orlando, the Teaching Edge Speaker series’ maiden voyage was a rousing success. People still haven’t stopped talking about it. This year, as we return to Chicago, the literacy super stars return with us to create the magic all over again. Some faces are new, others familiar, but all promise to dazzle attendees at the world’s premier literacy event.
